Oct 6: World Mental Health Day Celebrations
As a part of World Mental Health Day celebrations, DG Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, Chennai conducted cultural events for children with special needs. Our students enthusiastically participated in various events like drawing, creative art, group dance, elocution etc and showcased their talents.
Oct 6: Joy Of Giving
Actor and theatre artist, T M Karthik (TMK) generously gave his amazing talent to help raise funds for Swabodhini for the Joy of Giving Week. The Annetts of Rotary club of Madras, North –West took up the offer and organized a stand-up comedy show by Karthik at the Savera Hotel and raised funds for the school.
Oct 8: Punnagai
Asan Memorial College conducted a cultural event for special children, called “Punnnagai” at their college premises on 8th Oct, 2016. Our students participated in the same and enjoyed the festive atmosphere of the event and joyfully competed in the events.
Oct 10: Vijayadasami
Navaratri was celebrated at our school premises with a beautiful Golu. Devi Puja was done, followed by Prasad distribution.
Oct 22: Anandham Deepavali
Rotary Club 3230 had organized a fun trip to VGP Golden Beach Amusement park for our students as a part of their Anandham Deepavali celebrations. Deepavali was welcomed in style at VGP, where the students had a lot of fun in the amusement park.
Oct 23: Credai CEO Run:
Two of our sweet students – Gurubaran and Fathima sang at the Credai CEO Run organized by the United Way Chennai. Our sincere thanks to Mr Sudarshan, CEO of Credit Mantri who has signed up to raise funds for Swabodhini, which will be used for educating and training children with autism and related challenges.
Oct 26 & 27: Diwali Stalls
As a part of Deepawali celebrations, vocational training students of Swabodhini had set up stalls at Sterling Resorts office in adyar on 26th and Apollo Hospitals, centatoph road on the 27th of October. Handmade and decorated diyas, tamboolam(gift) bags etc made by Swabodhini students were sold in these stalls. The staff enthusiastically extended a warm support to the stalls by buying the items displayed.
