Greetings from Swabodhini!

October has been an eventful and enriching month for our students. We began the month with an inspiring interaction, where our children taught the corporate heads of AGS Health how to make vocational products. These sessions, held at their Chennai office, were a meaningful exchange, with the heads from the United States expressing their admiration for the talent and creativity of our children.

Festivals, as always, offer a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with the rich cultural heritage of our nation. This month, we celebrated two significant festivals— Navratri and Deepavali. Through the theme “Unity in Diversity,” our students learned about the importance of these festivals, explored the significance behind the rituals, and, of course, enjoyed the joy of setting up a beautifully decorated ‘golu’ and bursting firecrackers.

Our children’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as they exhibited the products, they’ve made at stalls set up in prestigious locations like Loyola College, Airtel’s office, and Woodlands Hotel. These events gave them a chance to display their skills and interact with the community.

A highlight of the month was the visit of a team of employees from the Bharti Airtel Santhome branch to our Thiruvanmiyur centre. During their visit, they participated in various activities inside our sensory room, which helped them understand the daily challenges faced by our children. It was an enriching experience for both our children and the visitors, fostering greater empathy and understanding.

As always, we wrapped up the month with the birthday celebrations of our students and staff, a joyous occasion that brought everyone together.

Our vocational students enjoyed working with the staff of AGS Health to create the vocational products, including block printing, when they visited the AGS Health office on October 1.

On 11^th October we celebrated Ayudha Pooja at our Thiruvanmiyur Centre.

Employees from Airtel visited our Thiruvanmiyur Center, engaged with our students, and played some entertaining games with our students
