Greetings from Swabodhini!
September began on a festive note with the celebration of Teachers’ Day, honouring our dedicated teachers for their tireless efforts. The support staff across all centres joined hands in expressing their appreciation by presenting thoughtful gifts to the teachers.
We are delighted to share that our students participated with great enthusiasm in the Sports and Cultural competitions titled “The Real Heroes” and the CM Trophy, showcasing their talents and winning several prizes.
Our children also shone brightly on stage at “Sangamithra” hosted by Vel’s University and “Siragugal” organized by the Rotary Club of Chennai, earning resounding applause from the audience for their spirited performances.
We were pleased to welcome the Talent Acquisition Team from Grundfos Pumps India Pvt. Ltd. to our Thiruvanmiyur centre. They observed our therapy sessions, visited the popcorn unit, and engaged in fun games with our children — leaving with cherished memories of their visit.
Continuing our vibrant traditions, we celebrated Navaratri and Onam with much joy and enthusiasm, bringing colour and cheer to our centres.
As always, the month concluded with our birthday celebrations, spreading smiles and togetherness.

Guiding Lights: Teachers’ Day 2025
Across all our centres, Teachers’ Day brought moments of joy and appreciation. Support staff expressed their heartfelt thanks by presenting thoughtful gifts to teachers, making the occasion even more meaningful. The celebrations reflected the respect and admiration our community holds for its educators. It was truly a day of honouring the guidance and dedication that teachers bring into the lives of our students.
Victory at Real Heroes Event
The Real Heroes event was a wonderful blend of cultural and sports activities, where our students participated with great enthusiasm. Showcasing their diverse talents, they impressed the audience and emerged winners in several categories. The achievements brought immense pride and joy, making it a memorable experience for all.
Achievements at CM Trophy Meet
Our students participated in the CM Trophy Meet and displayed commendable talent and discipline. Several students secured prizes, bringing recognition to their hard work and commitment. We congratulate all the winners and participants for their noteworthy achievements.
Our Students Shine at Sangamitra
Our students, along with their teachers, enthusiastically participated in Sangamitra, the cultural event hosted by Vels University. The program provided a wonderful platform to showcase talents, interact with peers, and celebrate creativity. It was an enriching and enjoyable experience for both students and teachers alike.
Celebrating Culture with Rotary Club of United Chennai
Bringing together joy and creativity, the cultural event Siragugal organized by the Rotary Club of United Chennai at SPASTN saw enthusiastic participation from our students. They showcased their talents through engaging performances and thoroughly enjoyed the lively atmosphere. The event was both memorable and enriching for everyone involved.
Engaging Presence at Grundfos
Our stall at Grundfos received an encouraging response, fostering valuable conversations and connections. Visitors appreciated the initiatives we presented, and their feedback reaffirmed the relevance of our work. We are grateful for the opportunity to engage with such a receptive audience and look forward to building on this momentum.
Students Shine at Quizabled 2025-26
Our students participated with great enthusiasm in the 8th edition of Quizabled 2025-26 – Knowledge for All, organized by SPASTN in collaboration with Seva-in-Action and LTI Mindtree, Bengaluru. The preliminary round was held on September 2nd, followed by the semi-final round on September 17th. Competing in teams of two with similar abilities, the children showcased their knowledge, teamwork, and confidence, making the event a truly enriching experience.
An Engaging Day with Grundfos Talent Acquisition Team
The Talent Acquisition team from Grundfos spent a delightful day with our children, interacting and participating in various fun games. They also had the opportunity to observe the different therapies provided to the students, gaining insights into their learning and development. The visit fostered meaningful connections and left both the team and the children with memorable experiences.
Unity in Tradition: Onam Celebrations
Onam was celebrated with great enthusiasm across all our centres, bringing together students and staff in festive cheer. The day was filled with traditional games and engaging activities that reflected the spirit of the occasion. A highlight of the celebrations was sharing the delicious payasam, enjoyed by everyone. The event created a joyful atmosphere of
togetherness, cultural pride, and community bonding. It was a memorable occasion that strengthened the sense of unity across our centres.
A Day of Joyful Learning with Brahma Kumaris
We were delighted to welcome visitors from the Brahma Kumaris Centre who spent a meaningful day with our children. They conducted several fun-filled and engaging activities that encouraged creativity, positivity, and interaction. The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions, making it a truly memorable experience.
Festive Spirit of Navaratri Across Our Centres
Navaratri was celebrated with great enthusiasm across all our centres. Beautiful golus were arranged, adding charm and tradition to the festivities. Children and staff joined together in preparing snacks and engaging in fun-filled activities, creating an atmosphere of joy, togetherness, and cultural vibrancy.
Vocational Talents on Display at Vidyasagar
A stall was held at Vidyasagar, Chennai, featuring vocational products crafted by our students. The exhibition highlighted their creativity, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit. Visitors appreciated the quality and uniqueness of the items, making it a proud moment for our students to showcase their skills to the community.
Student Creations Featured at World Bank
At the World Bank, a vibrant stall was set up displaying vocational products made by our students. The initiative not only highlighted their craftsmanship but also gave them a platform to connect with a wider audience. The stall drew much appreciation and encouragement, motivating the students to continue pursuing their creative skills with confidence.
Birthday celebrations at Swabodhini
Birthdays were celebrated with warmth and excitement across all our centres. The occasion brought together children and staff to share smiles, laughter, and sweet treats. Songs, games, and little surprises made the day extra special, creating memories of togetherness and happiness for everyone.
