Foreword

Greetings from Swabodhini!

November has been an exciting and rewarding month for us at Swabodhini, despite the rains. Our children showcased their talents across various competitions, making us incredibly proud of their achievements.

We are thrilled to announce that our students excelled in the Tamil Nadu Special Olympics Sports and Cultural Meet at the district level, winning numerous prizes. Their outstanding performances have earned them a spot in the State-level competition. In addition, our students participated in the Sports Meet organized by the Tamil Nadu Government Disability Department, further displaying their athletic spirit.

Another highlight was the 32nd Rota Talent Contest, where our children received special awards and secured the Runner-Up trophy, bringing more recognition to their remarkable abilities.

On the occasion of World Disability Day, we were overjoyed to see our Special Educator, Ms. Srikala, honoured with the prestigious “Best Teacher Award.”

We are also pleased to share that Ms. Nandini Priyakumari, our Director, and Ms. Sowmiya, Centre Head & Head of Therapy Services, participated in a weeklong workshop titled “Celebrating Neurodiversity,” conducted by the Giving Matters Foundation in collaboration with Portobello Institute, Ireland. This enriching experience provided valuable insights into supporting neurodiverse individuals, which we look forward to applying in our work at Swabodhini.

Additionally, we had the pleasure of hosting visitors from the Rotary Club, who spent quality time engaging with our children. We also celebrated Children’s Day across all four of our centers, filling the month with joy and laughter.

As always, we are grateful for the unwavering support of our community, and we look forward to sharing more updates and accomplishments with you in the coming months.

Best Regards,
