Greetings from Swabodhini!

The month of February was bustling with music, dance and drama with all the three centres gearing up for our Annual Day celebrations. Children practised their respective performances with bubbling energy and enthusiasm while the staff members were busy with the practice sessions, hiring costumes, making props and what not!

The Trustees, Principal and the Vocational Centre Head held a meeting with the parents of the alumni who were placed in different organisations to get feedback of their ward’s performance. They were very happy to let us know that their children are well settled in their jobs and that their self esteem and self confidence have risen considerably.

Our therapists, special educators, Centre Heads and Principal attended a workshop on “Letter Board Communication” by Ms Elizabeth Vosseller from the United States, Head of I – ASC (International Association for Spelling as Communication) to facilitate communication for non-verbal children through spelling.

Ms Vidya Jayaraman, Executive Director and Ms Annie Sylvia, Associate Director inaugurated the therapy unit equipment donated by AGS Health to our centre at Velachery.

Mr. Sunder Chanrai, our donor and well-wisher, visited our campuses at Thiruvanmiyur and Velachery. He interacted with our trustees and watched our children in action. The month ended happily with birthday celebrations of our children and staff.

Parents of Grundfos-Trainees, Trustees, Principal and the Centre Head had a meeting at Thiruvanmiyur Centre on 3rd February

On 23rd February employees from IBS Software, our corporate sponsor, visited our Thiruvanmiyur centre and were engaged in different activities with the students.

On 28th February Mr Sunder Chanrai and his daughter visited our centres at Thiruvanmiyur and Velachery.

On 27th February, Ms Vidya Jayaraman, Executive Director and Ms Annie Sylvia, Associate Director inaugurated the therapy unit equipment donated by AGS Health at our centre at Velachery. Mr Sakthi Prasanna, Assistant General Manager and Mr Paul Sylvanus, Team Member were present during the occasion.
